Required Technology for Online Learning
Excel High School’s courses are 100% online, so students need a reliable device and internet connection to access coursework, complete assignments, and communicate with academic support.
1. Computer or Laptop (Required)
A Windows PC, Mac, or Chromebook with an updated operating system.
Tablets and mobile devices can be used for some coursework but are not recommended for writing assignments, exams, or full course completion.
A mouse and keyboard are required for efficient navigation and assignments.
2. Internet Connection (Required)
High-speed internet (Wi-Fi or wired connection) is required for video streaming, coursework, and exams.
A minimum speed of 10 Mbps is recommended for a smooth learning experience.
Public Wi-Fi connections (e.g., libraries, coffee shops) may cause login or performance issues.
3. Web Browser (Required)
Google Chrome (Recommended) – Provides the best experience for Learn Stage.
Firefox or Edge – Supported but may have some limitations.
Safari – Not recommended due to compatibility issues.
4. Software & Applications (Required for Assignments)
Google Docs or Microsoft Word – Needed for writing assignments and essays.
PDF Reader (Adobe Acrobat or Browser PDF Viewer) – Used for viewing course materials.
Excel High School Learn Stage Portal – All coursework and communication happen inside Learn Stage.
5. Optional Equipment for Enhanced Learning
Headphones or Speakers – Useful for course videos and lessons.
Webcam & Microphone – Not required but useful for students enrolled in Success Coach Pro or engaging in optional video-based assignments.
Can I Use a Mobile Device for Coursework?
Mobile devices and tablets can be used to review lessons, but a computer is required for assignments, writing, and final exams.
Some interactive course features may not work on mobile devices.
